Bolster acquires minority interest in WIND Subsea Cable Services
Bolster Investment Partners has acquired a 49% interest in WIND Subsea Cable Services. WIND is world market leader in the field of logistics, storage and recovery of subsea cables, in particular for offshore wind farms. Bolster will support WIND in achieving its ambitious growth plans.
WIND is active worldwide and carries out projects for well-established developers and owners of offshore wind farms. During the construction phase of these wind farms, WIND manages the handling, transport and temporary storage of the subsea cables. In addition, WIND provides the long-term storage of spare cables and collaborates with partner Mertech Marine to remove decommissioned cables from the seabed for recycling. In this way, WIND contributes to the energy transition and a more sustainable future.
The worldwide activities are coordinated from WIND’s head office in Alkmaar and its main European logistics hub in Velsen-Noord. WIND also has hubs in ports in Amsterdam, Eemshaven, Taichung (Taiwan) and Providence (USA) for the storage and handling of valuable and complex subsea cables. Its geographical coverage means WIND can serve prominent clients quickly and thoroughly.
With Bolster as partner, WIND will continue its successful growth strategy. Key drivers of growth are further international expansion through the opening of new logistics hubs worldwide and investments in equipment and innovation.
